EXTRAORDINARY – Tate's experience was just the beginning

I had no idea that Tate’s experience was just the beginning of what was to come on campus this fall. 

After meeting new students in the sweltering August heat and humidity, Tate, a student leader, reached out to those who expressed interest in faith.

The very next day he had 5(!) meetings with individual students and groups! 

At one of those meetings he brought a new leader, Will.

During the conversation Tate shared an overview of Jesus’ life and message, and then Will shared personally about his own spiritual journey (which he thought was hardly worth sharing). 

After Will finished saying, “it was while I was in college that I realized that I need to make faith my own”, a guy & his friend walked up to their table.

With his voice & hands visibly shaking:

“I hope you don’t mind…

but we’ve been listening to your story…

And that’s exactly where I am.

I need to make my faith my own.”

These two guys had been sitting at the table next to Will and Tate’s eavesdropping on the discussion. And, against all their natural inclinations, they felt compelled to invite themselves into the conversation and join Tate’s Bible study! 

Tate’s experience of witnessing God reach beyond his efforts has turned out to be a foreshadowing of what was to come.
